Ebook About A mark, a Calling, and a fate I didn't see coming.I thought surviving the Hawthorne alpha's wrath would put an end to my trials.I was wrong.I've been marked, branded by mystical forces, and with no clue what's about to happen I'm going in blind. All I know is that it will be a test of survival. All I want is to find a way out.But as the hours tick by and the Calling gets close, I'm forced to accept that maybe fate can't always be thwarted.Sometimes the things we wish for, are the very things we should be running from.Book A Shifter's Trial (Wolves of Hawthorne Cove Book 2) Review :
Quinn, the beta’s daughter, went on a mission for her pack hoping to regain her status but is thrown a serious curve ball at the end of A Shifter’s Sin. As the story progresses finding out the truth creates more harm than good, cryptic messages create headaches, and the final outcome could change the world. Debbie Cassidy’s A Shifter’s Trial leads the reader on a hunt for answers they may be better off not knowing. The trials that Quinn faces are not for the faint of heart and definitely force her to shine.I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not. I should have stopped with the first book. I gave the 2nd book in the series a chance, despite not liking the first. Without belaboring the point overmuch, I simply do not like the fmc. The fmc comes off as a petulant teenager stomping her way through explicitly adult scenarios without thinking at all. Given that I do not like YA books that feature teenage protagonists having sex with multiple partners, the mental and emotional immaturity of the fmc is beyond off-putting.
